A warm welcome to our ‘Ohana! We are excited to embark on our fifth year of Family Faith Formation together. This journey is about more than just learning—it’s an opportunity for us to grow in our faith, strengthen our relationships with God, and connect more deeply with one another.
This handbook is designed to give you all the essential details about our Ministry to children and youth, including important procedures and practices. If you have any questions or would like to share your thoughts and feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office. We believe in the power of open communication and value your input.

Mission & Vision Statement
Mission of Faith Formation
Faith formation at St. Ann Church invites participants and their families into a journey of living out their Catholic faith. We are committed to helping individuals develop a lifelong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, offering a program that is inclusive and centered on both receiving and sharing the gift of unconditional love. Guided by the teachings and example of Jesus, our program integrates catechesis, prayer, sacramental preparation, liturgy, and service, cultivating a community of faith in action.
Vision of Faith Formation
Through shared experiences and a deeper understanding of our Catholic Tradition, Faith Formation at St. Ann Church seeks to nurture and strengthen our relationship with Jesus. We envision a lifelong journey where both heart and mind are developed, honoring the growth of every participant in faith, love, and knowledge throughout their lives.
We are grateful to the many parents and parishioners who faithfully assist our processes with extraordinary gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Your generosity makes it possible for us to minister to the keiki and youth of our parish.
Sacramental Preparation
First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion
In the Diocese of Honolulu, children are prepared for their First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion when they enter second grade through twelfth grade. Children/youth must have at least one year of faith formation before enrolling in the sacramental preparation process.
For children grades 2-5: Sessions are held two Sundays a month from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the church hall with food and fellowship after Mass. (See Calendar)
For youth grades 6-12: Sessions are held three Tuesdays a month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the St. Anthony School Cafeteria. Each session begins with sharing a meal together. (See Calendar)
Becoming Catholic
Children (age 7 and older) who desire to be baptized are prepared according to the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for children. This includes a preparation for Confirmation and First Holy Communion. Formation including mentoring and participation in weekly Mass, parish activities, and reflection on the various rites in preparation for becoming Catholic through baptism.

Registration forms must be submitted yearly. Please download and complete the registration form and email the completed form to waiheere@gmail.com.

Health concerns and medication (Parish personnel and volunteers may not dispense or administer medication to students. Parents should discuss any health concerns related to their child confidentially with the Faith Formation Director.)
